Rahy's Attorney wins Woodbine Mile (AP)
Canadian-owned Rahy's Attorney won the $1 million Woodbine Mile on Sunday, while favored Kip Deville faded to finish a distant fifth. With the win, Rahy's Attorney clinched a berth in the Breeders' Cup Mile on Oct. 25 in Santa Anita Park in California. Kip Deville, North America's top-ranked turf miler, took the early lead, but couldn't hold it coming around the turn.

Under Serviced wins Schenectady Handicap (AP)

Under Serviced overcame an early stumble to win the $107,300 Schenectady Handicap for New York bred fillies and mares Sunday at Belmont Park. After the poor break, Under Serviced nimbly recovered to grab the early lead and score a pacesetting 1 1/2 -length victory over Street Sass. Kent Desormeaux was aboard for trainer Bob Baffert as the 3-year-old raced to her fourth win in five starts.

Larry Jones stood at the podium, his voice breaking ever so slightly. Even now, four months later, the veteran trainer finds it difficult to talk about the death of Eight Belles. "It still tears me up as bad as the day that it happened," Jones said Sunday after a memorial service for the filly at the Kentucky Derby Museum, a furlong or two from the track where she ran her final race.

Power game drew off in the stretch to win the $65,000 Restoration Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday, beating Meal Penalty by 4 lengths. Trained by Claude "Shug" McGaughey and ridden by Elvis Trujillo, the 3-year-old colt covered the 1 1-16 miles over a fast main track in 1:43 2-5 and returned $3 to win.

Yonkers cancels live and simulcast racing (AP)
Yonkers Raceway canceled its live and simulcast racing scheduled for Saturday night due to the severe weather expected in the area. Afternoon simulcasting was to continue Saturday afternoon through the conclusion of the Belmont card. Live racing was scheduled to resume Monday night, with first post at 7:40 p.m.

Ky. governor bans steroids in race horses (AP)
Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear signed an emergency regulation Friday banning steroids for the state's thoroughbred and standardbred races. The new rules go into effect immediately and ban anabolic steroids from being present in the blood of any horse that's racing. Horse regulators approved the sweeping ban earlier this month.

Curlin's next start will be in New York (AP)
Curlin will get his chance to become thoroughbred racing's richest horse later this month in the $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park in New York. The 2007 Horse of the Year, fresh from a victory in the Woodward Stakes at Saratoga in upstate New York, has earned $9,796,800 with 10 wins in 13 career starts.
